An introduction about us: thanks to years of experience in producing Breton clothing, we offer the highest quality. This experience is based on a long family tradition.
It began in 1887 with a factory for hats, caps, and lace owned by my great-grandfather in the city center of Amsterdam. When my father took over the business, he specialized in making 100% cotton striped outerwear.
In 2011, as the youngest son in a family of four brothers, I launched my own label: BRETON STRIPE.
Specialized in stripes
From our own factory, we control the entire production process, from the thread to the end product. We knit the cotton thread into a roll, which is then cut and assembled by hand.
We believe it is important that every BRETON STRIPE item is made BRETON STRIPE great care and assembled 'stripe by stripe'.
Based on our expertise and years of experience, we have opted for single jersey and heavy jersey quality in the production of the BRETON STRIPE .
Jersey is a term used to define fabrics with a knitted construction, made with a knitting machine. The material was first produced in the Middle Ages on the island of Jersey, England.
The yarns are dyed separately, and only then is the fabric knitted into the Breton stripe.
Jersey is made in one of two knitted structures:
Single jersey – a fine, soft quality, knitted with a single thread.
Heavy jersey – a thicker quality, as was used in the days when Breton stripes were reserved for the French navy.

Only our raincoats are produced outside Europe. This is because the production of raincoats is specialized work and we could not find the high quality we required within the EU.
All items are delivered from the factory to our warehouse in the Netherlands.
From here, all orders are carefullypacked and shipped. Our office is also located in the warehouse, from where we BRETON STRIPE the administration, styling, and communication for BRETON STRIPE .

About us: BRETON STRIPE an honest brand.
We take our responsibility towards people and the environment seriously when producing our products. Our 100% cotton clothing is made within the EU and we use OEKO-TEX 100 STANDARD. This standard focuses on limiting the use of harmful substances in relation to the health of the end user.
We offer a consistent collection that includes manyclassic styles. As a result, our Breton clothing is not greatly affected by fast-changing fashion trends. Thequality is highand designed to be worn for several seasons.
Fast delivery: ordered before 4 p.m., shipped the same (working) day
We ship orders from stock every (working) day. We carefully pack orders placed on the website before 4 p.m. and deliver them to the postal service (PostNL / DPD) on the same working day.
